Nigeria - Dana Air refuses to allow personnel to join unions

On 13 November 2017, the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) grounded the operations of Dana Air Limited at the Murtala Muhammed Airport domestic terminal over the management’s refusal to allow technical personnel, including engineers and pilots, to join unions. The NAAPE picket was joined by all affiliates of the United Labour Congress (UCL). In reaction, the Dana Air management issued a statement denying employment of casual workers and anti-union practices and accused the union of illegal action.
