Hong Kong (RAE - China) - Dockers union bypassed (2012)

In May, the Hong Kong Dockers Union requested a pay rise after years of decreasing wage levels. There was no response from the employer who instead bypassed the union and directly discussed the matter with the employees. The union began to organise workers and protested the move. The employers finally agreed to a 4% rise after a threat of strike action from the union.
