Tailandia - Government ignores labour committee findings (2011)

On 16 January, Transport Minister Sohpon Zarum rejected the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee’s (SELRC) order to reinstate six former State Railway of Thailand (SRT) employees. The employees, all members of the State Railway Workers’ Union of Thailand (SRWUT), were dismissed after a strike in October, 2009. Sophon directed the SRT to appeal the decision to the Labour Court.
