Indonesia - Thugs savagely attacked peaceful demonstrators in North Sumatra

A group of peaceful demonstrators in North Sumatra were protesting against the new system for a minimum wage. The workers were exercising their legitimate right to protest peacefully when they were attacked. Seven labour activists had to be hospitalised as a result of the attack.
Many demonstrations took place in Indonesia against this new system that drastically cuts unions’ influence, and in this respect this attack was one of a long series taking place in the country from October on.
