Jamaica - Union busting by Chinese harbour company

The Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) and the National Workers’ Union warned at the end of January that the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) contractors were victimising their members. The contractors warned the unions that workers who insisted on their right to union membership would be laid off, and in some cases workers had already lost their jobs.
