Kazajstán - Authorities denied registration to the Sectoral Mass Media and Telecom Workers’ Union

Activists of the independent trade union movement also pointed out the difficulties during the registration process faced by the non-governmental association the Sectoral Mass Media and Telecom Workers’ Union. On 23 April 2021, the Order No. 2164-р of the RK Ministry of Justice denied registration of the Sectoral Union of Mass Media and Telecommunications Workers’ Union, quoting as the grounds the union’s lack of confirmation of its status by the justice authorities and the union’s failure to produce the originals of the former founding documents. The founding documents in question had been provided to the Ministry of Justice during the registration of the union in December 2015.
