Israel - Planned teachers strike declared illegal (2011)

A strike called shortly before the start of the school year in September was ruled illegal by courts and cancelled. To protest the lack of progress in contract talks and the expansion of an educational reform programme, the Secondary Schools Teachers Association declared a one-day general strike in the secondary school system a day before the new school year was set to begin.
