Kuwait - Strikers replaced with other workers (2012)

On 16 and 17 October inspectors at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour took strike action, which led to the postponement of various council meetings. The few who continued working did so for fear of losing their jobs or wages. The strikers had been calling for equality of treatment with workers from other Ministries. The strikers complained that the Labour Affairs ministry had assigned their tasks to other less qualified workers.
