Pakistán - Violence used against striking Port Qasim dock workers

On 10 December 2018, police used batons and water cannon to prevent striking Port Qasim dock workers from marching to the Governor House in Karachi. The workers had been on strike since October 2018 demanding that they receive their salaries, which had not been paid for many months, and that they be issued with identity cards. The dispute was eventually resolved in late January 2019.
