Pakistán - Continued danger to workers at the Gadani Ship breaking yards (2012)

An International Metalworkers’ Federation (IMF) report highlighted the continued danger to workers at the Gadani Ship breaking yards and ongoing obstacles to union organising at the shipyards. Despite an agreement in 2009, over the provision of safety gear, the death toll from work related injuries keeps on rising and employers in the yard are violating the basic law on occupational health and safety.
