(2011) - New features

The new Survey website

We are pleased to introduce the new website for the Annual Survey of Violations of Trade Union Rights. We have worked hard to improve the readability of the text and to make the information more easily available to the user.

Please note that due to technical limitations not all features are available on the USB version, but are found on-line at http://survey.ituc-csi.org. All future Surveys will be conveniently found on that site and at that address.

Below is a list of the new features.

- Interactive map. The first thing you may have noticed on the new website is the interactive map that is displayed on the front page. Not only does this map allow for easy navigation, it also displays the number of violations of trade union rights and the number of trade union rights’ practices both per region and per country.

- Glossary. We have included a glossary on trade union rights’ terms on the site for your convenience. Words that are marked like this (anti-union discrimination anti-union discrimination Any practice that disadvantages a worker or a group of workers on grounds of their past, current or prospective trade union membership, their legitimate trade union activities, or their use of trade union services. Can constitute dismissal, transfer, demotion, harassment and the like.

- Guide. We have written a guide to international trade union rights that you can consult at your convenience. The guide gives an introduction to international trade union rights as viewed by the ITUC, and is based on the International Labour Organization International Labour Organization A tripartite United Nations (UN) agency established in 1919 to promote working and living conditions.
